New details paint a clearer picture of how the attack was stopped. A bystander named Lane Koehn, 34, told NBC News he was stopped at a light near the restaurant when he saw the gunman emerge from the drive-thru carrying an AR-style rifle, with bullets striking the car in front of him. Investigators still have not identified a motive. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks noted that Williams's family members are cooperating with investigators, adding that "their hearts are also broken at this time."
